FAQs
NUTS ABOUT NUTS: INGREDIENTS & NUTRITION
Why do you use almonds instead of peanuts?
We love almonds! They’re a nutrient powerhouse with more than double
the fibre of peanuts, low in saturated fat and high in unsaturated fats (the
good kind), including the all important omega 3 for a healthy brain. Almonds
also contain nearly three times as much vitamin E, twice as much iron, and
seven times more calcium.
Plus, they give you a healthy boost of protein, magnesium, copper, B
vitamins, potassium, and zinc. Simply put, almonds make our nut butters both
delicious and seriously nutritious.
What makes ButterUp nut butters so special?
Every jar of ButterUp is made with real, whole ingredients. No nasties,
no artificial additives, just creamy, dreamy spreads bursting with flavour.
Our nut butters are packed with essential nutrients: vitamins, minerals,
antioxidants, protein, fibre, and heart-healthy fats. Made locally in New
Zealand, our nut spreads are indulgent, guilt-free, and perfect for everyday
treats.
And yes, our chocolate spreads BONBON and PEPE WHITE are our little
indulgent exceptions, still made with care and a natural preservative to keep
them fresh.
Are ButterUp nut butters peanut-free?
The majority of our spreads are completely peanut-free. The only exception is our chocolate spread BONBON, as the chocolate we use may contain traces of peanuts.
So, if you’re avoiding peanuts, the rest of our range is safe and delicious.
Why is Pistachio Butter so amazing?
Pistachios are nutritional powerhouses, containing many essential vitamins and minerals that help everything from the health of your skin to the health of your gut. The pistachio nut is the only nut that is a complete protein, and one of the few plant-based sources that are complete proteins. This means that they contain all essential amino acids.
They are cholesterol free, contain fibre, antioxidants, lutein, potassium, healthy fats and B-vitamins. Eating pistachios before and after a workout is a great way to help the body re-fuel and recover. Best of all, pistachios taste beautiful! We are confident that our pistachio butters will become your new obsession.
