Almonds vs Peanuts
Why do we use almonds over peanuts?
- More than double the amount of fibre
- Low saturated fat and high unsaturated fat (the good kind), including the all-important omega 3 for the growing brain
- Contains nearly three times as much vitamin E, twice as much iron, and seven times more calcium
- Protein is similar, with a good boost of magnesium, copper, B vitamins, potassium and zinc

Will ButterUp nut butters make me fat?
Our spreads are high in calories due to the high fat content. Almonds and cashew butters can be part of a weight management plan when consumed in moderation. They are high in healthy fats, protein, and fibre, which can help with satiety and reduce overall calorie intake. Both almonds and cashew butters are nutritious and can support weight loss when included in a balanced diet.

The majority of our spreads do not contain peanuts. The exception is our chocolate spread BONBON - the chocolate that we use in this spread may contain peanuts.

What are the benefits of Pistachio?
Pistachios are nutritional powerhouses, containing many essential vitamins and minerals that help everything from the health of your skin to the health of your gut.
Pistachios are the only nut that is a complete protein, and one of the few plant-based sources that are complete proteins. This means that they contain all essential amino acids.
Pistachios are cholesterol free, contain fibre, antioxidants, lutein, potassium, healthy fats and B-vitamins. Eating pistachios before and after a workout is a great way to help the body re-fuel and recover.
Best of all, pistachios taste beautiful! We are confident that our pistachio butters will become your new obsession.
How long do ButterUp nut butters last and how should I store them?
Our butters have a 12 month shelf life when unopened. Once opened, please store in a cool dry place. If you find that you are taking a little longer than usual to finish up your jar, pop it in the fridge to extend the shelf life.
Are ButterUp nut butters keto friendly?
Nuts are a keto-friendly, low-carb food, however, that doesn’t mean all nut butters are healthy or keto-friendly.
When it comes to nut butter, the fewer ingredients, the better. If a nut butter contains any ingredients other than nuts, they should add nutritional value or benefits. Nut butters on a keto diet should also be sugar and preservative free. ButterUp nut butters fall into this category (with the exception of our chocolate butters).
We use almonds for the base of the majority of our products. Almond butter has a low net carb count and more fibre when you compare it to most other common nut butters. We pair almonds with a smaller percentage of cashews, which aren't the most keto-friendly nuts due to the higher carb count.
Pistachios pair well with keto desserts and so does pistachio butter. Our pistachio butter is rich in fat and protein and low in carbs. It also contains significant amounts of micronutrients like iron, magnesium, and vitamin B6. Try PEPE or our LIMITED EDITION PEPE 100% from our pistachio range.
Which ButterUp butter has the highest protein content?
Our LIMITED EDITION PEPE 100% butter has the highest protein count at 4.3g of protein per 20g serving.
PEPE, our rich and creamy pistachio butter has the second highest at 3.9g of protein per 20g serving.
In third place our creamy golden almond butter NAKƏD has 3.8g of protein per 20g serving.
